Concentrates Guide

There are many forms...

What Are Medical Cannabis Concentrate Products?

Concentrates are medical cannabis products that have a higher potency than flower. Concentrates are created by extracting the cannabinoids and terpenes from plant material; there are two basic categories of cannabis concentrates: solvent-based extraction and Solventless extraction.

Solventless Concentrates specifically refer to concentrates that are extracted without the use of a solvent (such as butane, propane, or CO2). The Solventless process creates a cleaner, high-fidelity product that accurately represents the strain used.

Solventless, Full Spectrum Benefits

Solventless products are True Full Spectrum products. This means that Solventless concentrates maintain the full profile of the cannabis plant - including terpenes, cannabinoids, and other compounds such as flavonoids - without compromising any aspect of the profile.

SOLVENTLESS CONSISTENCIES

Not all Solventless concentrates are the same - there is a wide variation of color and consistency depending on the strain used.

TYPES OF SOLVENTLESS PRODUCTS

At Firelands Scientific, we strive to offer the highest-fidelity medicine in form factors suited for Ohio patients.

ONE

Fresh Frozen Live Flower

Cannabis flower is harvested and immediately frozen in order to maintain the phytochemical properties of the cultivar.

TWO

Wash

Trichome heads are agitated and separated from the fresh frozen cannabis flower; the trichome heads carry the terpenes and cananbinoids of cultivar.

THREE

Filter

Using different sized micron filter bags, the trichome heads are collected and isolated from the wash; the resulting product is known as Ice Water Bubble Hash.

FOUR

Press

The micron bags are then pressed using a specialized machine that controls pressure levels and heat to press out the resinous oils from the Ice Water Bubble Hash (or flower).

FIVE

Vaporization

Oils and concentrates in the OMMCP must be vaporized. We have a number of concentrate-specific vaporizers that patients can purchase to utilize Solventless concentrates.
